Epiphany House Blessings

It’s a long-standing Christian tradition to bless homes on Epiphany, recalling the visitation of the Magi to the Holy Family.  This year, for the first time, Fr. Jack spent Epiphany and the day before (January 5-6) visiting and blessing as many parishioners' homes as he could.

Each family member was afforded a turn to make one or more of the marks 20 + C + M + B + 18 in chalk above the front door.  The letters C M B come from the traditional names for the "three kings" -- Caspar, Melchior & Balthazar. Some also suggest they stand for "Christus Mansionem Benedicat" which means, "May Christ bless this dwelling!"
